Celestial Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge - Book project

For this project, my role is to create a series of 14 no less than engraving depicting a range of animals that somewhat attempt to illustrate the Celestial Emporium Taxonomy of animal categories. Since the list is so subjective, there is almost unlimited scope for interpretation. I hope to create a fun and interesting series of images to compliment the expert book binding of R.I. Sutton. The techniques we have chosen will be using lino cutting and a dot technique along with utilising the semi-opaque qualities of Japanese paper. There is much more to read on our official Substack
