Sun Dog Oil on Canvas Painting - This piece has taken at least 12 months to complete, despite being a small 30cm x30cm piece. I constructed timber frame from recycled hardwood (which I feel is appropriate for the artwork theme), so it has a personal touch.
Here's some background: In the past few years, I have made it a priority to reconnect with nature and work on my own personal 'take' on life and what it means to 'be alive'. After a period of much personal change, this image began to form (among others) which has helped me make sense of our connection to nature and the elements around us, physical, mental and spiritual. I shared it online and received a very insightful interpretation from a local artist. He expressed it in words better than I could ever.
"This painting symbolizes the constant flow of energy and transformation in the natural world, from creation to destruction. The vibrant imagery invites contemplation on life's interconnectedness and the beauty found in change." - Boben Mammen
I have always wanted to 'find out' what is the purpose of life? I know it's not truly possible to ever know, but the question always lingers. Although I will not produce as many paintings as I would like, I would like to ensure the work I do produce in this medium is meaningful and well considered. I hope it may bring joy to others. Think of it as quality over quantity.
